After a pilot of its new “Sponsored Listening” advertisements last year, streaming music service Pandora Radio announced today that it’s rolling out the feature to all advertisers and listeners in its mobile apps. The feature rewards users with an hour of ad-free, uninterrupted listening as long as they first interact with an ad for at least 15 seconds. Pandora says listeners and advertisers responded positively to the pilot program with a 12 percent increase in brand awareness and a 30 percent increase in purchase intent, so now the company is rolling out the feature as a core part of its advertising efforts and to all of its approximately 80 million users....

Parks & Recreation wasn’t a series with a lot of foreshadowing, but it did have a small tease regarding Leslie and Ron’s feud in season 7 all the way back in season 2. Created by Michael Schur and Greg Daniels, Parks & Recreation made its debut on NBC in 2009 and came to an end in 2015 after seven seasons. The series was originally planned as a spinoff of The Office, and struggled a bit to find its own tone and style, hence why season 1 isn’t exactly the best....

iTunes customers who didn’t watch Apple’s iPhone keynote last month were a bit surprised to discover that they suddenly owned a copy of U2’s new album “Songs of Innocence,” even though they’d never bought it. The band had partnered with Apple to add the album to every single iTunes account for free in what they called the largest album debut ever. iTunes users were less than thrilled at the arrangement, noting that the album was being automatically downloaded to their devices in many cases and there was no way to remove it from their purchase history....

Apple has begun airing a new TV ad to promote the iPhone 5s that focuses on uses by parents within both “Smart Homes” and in everyday family life. The ad, aptly named “Parenthood,” shows how the iPhone can be used to record home video, find a lost dog, monitor the children, and turn off the lights in the living room. The ad comes ahead of HomeKit Smart Home appliance integration with iOS 8 this fall....

Panic, the company behind several popular developer applications and more, is teasing the forthcoming launch of its new new coda editor. Dubbed Nova, the new editor is a follow-up to Coda 2, and Panic describes it as a major shift in thinking. Panic first announced the successor to Coda in March, explaining that the web development space has changed a lot since Coda was originally released 12 years ago. Now, Panic says that Nova will enter private beta testing soon....

Outlander has proven to be a huge success across the world. Based on a series of novels by Diana Gabaldon, the show follows the life of British nurse, Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe). Claire finds herself falling through time and arriving in the eighteenth-century, where she falls in love with a Scottish highlander. Before Claire’s marriage to Jamie (Sam Heughan), she had also been married to ex-soldier Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies). Though Frank still had his terrible moments in the show, Menzies’ interpretation made it much easier to like the character, portraying a much softer side to the soldier rather than the chauvinist seen in the books — which is mostly what’ll we focus on....
