Over the past 24 hours, there’s been a big increase in the number of analysts predicting that the value of AAPL stock will rise, but this apparent boost in optimism on AAPL is not quite as it appears … At Wednesday’s close, just six of the analysts monitored by PED30 had price targets above AAPL’s then value. By last night’s close, that number had increased to 17. However, while some had increased their targets, most of it was explained by the fall in AAPL’s value in the 24-hour period – and that had little to do with the company itself....

Apple has added a few third-party products to its retail stores and website, most notably, several versions of Netgear’s Orbi mesh Wi-Fi routers. Meanwhile, IKEA + Sonos speakers with AirPlay 2 are now available from the Swedish retailer starting at $99. Orbi and more arrive at Apple After discontinuing its AirPort lineup in April last year, the only router offering Apple had remaining was the Linksys Velop mesh system. The developers at Panic today revealed some major changes coming soon to its web development offerings. The company says that later this year, it will release a completely new web development application as a successor to Coda, which was originally released 12 years ago. M1 Mac users now have a new way to virtualize Windows on their machines. Parallels has officially released Parallels Desktop 16.5 today with native support for Apple Silicon, enabling users to run the Windows 10 ARM Insider Preview on M1 Macs. Parallels says that over 100,000 M1 Mac users tested the Technical Preview of Parallels Desktop 16.5 using Microsoft’s Windows 10 on ARM Insider Previews. These beta testers also tested “tens of thousands of different Intel-based applications” in virtualization....

I wrote an opinion piece last year speculating on whether Apple would switch from Lightning to USB-C, and when it might do so. A new report today suggests that the company is planning to do so this year, in the iPhone 8. I argued then that there were compelling reasons for Apple to make the switch. While the Lightning port is a clever standard, USB-C is even smarter and more capable....

The latest version is faster and contains a lot of new features like APR (ARP Poison Routing) which enables sniffing on switched LANs and Man-in-the-Middle attacks. Since HomeKit was introduced with iOS 8, one major missing piece from Apple’s home automation effort has been a built-in app that provides a user interface to the underlying framework. Interacting with Siri is the only Apple-supplied HomeKit UI; users rely on third-party apps instead for all visual HomeKit management. The downside to this approach is that there isn’t officially one HomeKit app to rule them all, and companies that make great smart home sensors and accessories don’t necessarily make great software....

Oppo recently announced its new smartphone to market in the budget segment. Oppo is targeting brands like Infinix, Honor, etc in the budget segment with the Oppo A12. It includes a bunch of excellent features like octa-core Helio P-series SoC, dual-camera setup, water-drop notch, 4,230mAh battery, and fingerprint sensor. Here we will know whether the Oppo A12 will receive the official Android 11 (ColorOS 11) update. Outlander returns to Starz for season 3 this fall, based on the third book in Diana Gabaldon’s acclaimed series. This third season promises to be bigger than ever before, as the story moves away from Scotland, onto the open seas and toward Jamaica.
